Energy is neither created nor destroyed, it only changes form. Where one path ends, another begins. The project that started just over a year ago now called Grace has ended with finding a venue in Art Prize 2016 www.artprize.org. This site, starting a blog, introducing my work to a larger audience, begins a new journey. None of us are ever really what others expect us to be. Sometimes we are not even what we expect ourselves to be. As someone who has plenty of grand, somewhat crazy ideas that rarely ever come to fruition, completing Grace seemed daunting. However, the image in my mind felt more important than something that could be forgotten or half completed. It emanated a light and a meaning that hovered just beyond my conscious understanding, so it seems fitting to name this website after the project that made it possible; Grace called to me, and this time I answered.
The Blog, “A story about grace” will contain the narrative of the last year, the creation of the project, and the tragedy and comedy of being 40 and finding hope and even success in the strangest places. You will find more about my biography and aesthetics on the About page. If you don’t find something that you wanted to see, keep checking back! This site is under construction and I will be adding and tweaking content regularly. If you are interested in finding out more about a specific work, please use the contact page and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Between September 21 and October 9, Grace will be exhibited at First Park Congregational Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan as part of Art Prize 2016 www.artprize.org/62762 . This is the 8th year for Art Prize, and my first time as part of the competition. You can follow my journey on Facebook or email me with inquiries about my work. Thank you for your support and don't forget to check out my blog to hear more about the story behind Grace.
